My Story
🥾 Why Am I Climbing Mount Mulanje For The Microloan Foundation?
I was introduced to The Microloan Foundation's inspiring work by Shona Lockhart of The Language Factory, who is a long-time supporter of the charity.
I am taking on this challenge as I have been lucky enough to get a huge amount of professional support and mentoring from amazing women - and I want to pay it forward!
I can't think of a better way to do that than helping The Microloan Foundation, as best I can, to empower women in Sub-Saharan Africa to start their own entrepreneurial journeys and provide better lives for themselves, their families and communities.
🫶 What Does The Microloan Foundation Do?
The charity works exclusively with women, has enabled nearly 400,000 to set up their own small businesses, and provided mentoring to ensure they thrive. Those women have in turn provided 1.6 million children with increased acccess to nutritious food, healthcare and education, and helped their communities to prosper economically and socially. All of this in countries where women and girls are oftentimes overlooked and marginalised!
🐶 A Message From My Training Pawtner
My newly appointed Head of Human Training (pictured above) is taking his role very seriously. He is confident that I will reach the top of the Mount Mulanje in return for your support. I don't know how to tell him he can't come to Malawi with me!
🙏 How Can You Help?
Please give what you can to help The Microloan Foundation continue to create agency, autonomy, financial empowerment and equality for some of the poorest women in Sub-Saharan Africa. Thanks in advance!
